China Tonight returns to ABC News on Friday but is no longer hosted by Stan Grant, who is focussing fulltime on Q+A, radio and columns.

This season, ABC business reporter Samuel Yang will be in the hosting chair covering latest news headlines.

He’ll be joined by comedian Annie Louey covering what’s trending on Weibo and other cultural content, plus regular contributors from both here in Australia and China.

It’s the superpower that dominates global news, but its also home to 1.4 billion stories. The China Tonight team are here to share them with you. Hear from people who make this extraordinary nation what it is today.
