True Spirit in Netflix top 10

Aussie film reaches the Top 10 in 58 countries amongst subscribers, within its first week of release.

Aussie-made feature True Spirit, which dramatises Jessica Watson’s heroic sail around the globe, has enterted Netflix’s weekly Top 10 Films globally.

True Spirit has debuted at #5 globally in the platform’s top films (English) according to Netflix’s Global Top 10, from January 30 – February 5.

Released on February 3, the film has reached the Top 10 in 58 countries, including New Zealand, Canada, Spain and Italy with 11.09 million hours viewed.

Director / Writer Sarah Spillane last week told TV Tonight, “Netflix has changed the way that movies are consumed throughout the world and in the case of True Spirit I could not be happier to be partnered with them. On Feb 3 Netflix will drop True Spirit across the globe, making it accessible to people in more than 190 countries, and more than 30 languages. Jessica’s story is truly a universal one so what better place to land than a truly universal platform like Netflix?”

  1. That’s great news. And it’s such a lovely film. It’s so nice to have some feel good stories on our screens. So not successful in the US then?
