After a few years of disastrous ratings for network 10 during peak time slots and continuing on a slippery slope, they have not bothered to remedy their bad decisions at all, but keep making decisions cementing their bad ratings. Firstly, why put Australian Survivor, one of 10s best productions and shows worth watching, against MAFS when it’s forseeable that the latter would draw a greater audience as one of Australia’s most popular shows? Australian Survivor should be aired mid year as it used to be to draw greater viewing, as I suspect people have abandoned 10s best show for MAFS. And The Project…just ditch the show and replace it with any good repeat or new comedy show and/or good game show, as anything would beat the Project ratings, draw an audience for later time slots and would be cheaper to produce. And as for The Real Love Boat, Traitors and Celebrity Challenge, total garbage! I also bet I’m a Celbrity Get Me Out, another good show, will rate lower during April.
10 can’t just shut up shop for the first 3 months of the year…they have to be competitive even if they know MAFS will dominate. As one of their stronger shows, it’s probably better to run an established show like Survivor up against it vs. A new untested show that might tank – like when Traitors got annihilated by The Block last year. I think 10 would be happy that Survivor is a strong #2 in the demos most nights and beating Idol.
survivor seems to be one of the shows that fire for 10, makes them somewhat competitive at an important time of year
This is nothing to do with 10, millennials, gen z, people with good taste, they all out of watching tv. HYBPA is the best show on commercial TV, soon it will have low ratings like just 200K plus, but tasteless shows like 6pm News, Current Affairs will still have 500k plus ratings. 10 should concentrate about paramount+ or\and Pluto Tv not for the commercial TV. no one can improve the quality of taste who watches TV now, ratings proves just normal shows get higher ratings and any good entertaining shows just get less ratings.
Both Australian Idol and Survivor slipping a little bit and Idol noticeably hiding from the preferred demographics. Unusual that a singing show with mostly young participants is not attracting a youth audience but I suspect they are all watching Married at First Sight.
Nine News continuing to trail away from Seven, ABC News slipping a little bit on last year and Ten, well, I assume they still do some sort of news broadcast.
I don’t think idol or shows like that ever attract the youth mainly because they never watch television, occasionally as it gets into the finals and there’s some attractive young kid- usually male – making headlines. But I believe my age 60 and above like my dad (nearly90) is the real demographic.
