Asher Keddie begins production on Strife

Comedic drama about a blogger turned media guru also includes Matt Day, Jonathan LaPaglia, Tina Bursill, Emma Lung.

Production has begun in Sydney on Strife, a new Australian series for Binge / Foxtel starring Asher Keddie.

The comedic drama series tells the story of a modern, imperfect woman and publisher named Evelyn Jones (Keddie) and her journey from lounge room blogger to becoming a force in women’s media.

Set in the world of publishing & digital media, the series is inspired by Mia Freedman’s memoir, ‘Work, Strife, Balance’, and is written and adapted by Sarah Scheller.

The cast also includes Matt Day, Jonathan LaPaglia, Tina Bursill, Emma Lung, Maria Angelico, Rhys Mitchell, Olivia Junkeer, BeBe Bettencourt, Bryony Skillington, Lucy Ansell, Darcy Tadich and Willow Speers.

The series is directed by Stuart Bowen. Bruna Papandrea, Jodi Matterson and Steve Hutensky serve as executive producers for Made Up Stories, alongside Freedman, Keddie and Scheller, and Alison Hurbert-Burns for Binge. Commissioning Editor is Lana Greenhalgh.

The late Brian Walsh was also a commissioner and Executive Producer of Strife.

Made Up Stories will produce the series in partnership with Fifth Season, which will also handle international distribution. This series has received major production investment from Screen Australia and Binge and is financed with support from Screen NSW. Post, digital and visual effects supported by Screen NSW.

Strife is commissioned by the Foxtel Group for Binge and will also be available on Foxtel.
