On social media she told a fan she was all in for more mystery episodes.

The hit series has screened 12 seasons following production disruption by the pandemic.

The series has proven a big hit for ABC, winning its Sunday time slot and lifting considerably in Total TV numbers.

      1. Seven has had an output deal for ITV content for ages and they also screened Inspector Morse first. Seven didn’t persevere with Vera, it went to 13th Street, first run eps were then sold to the ABC, along with Endeavour when Foxtel drove 13th Street out of business. With the slow methodical pacing it’s much better to watch these UK murder mysteries without ads on pay or the ABC. S11 was heavily disrupted by Covid, with outdoor scenes, post production rushed or incomplete and few locations and sets all around Tyne Mouth. #12.4 was better, it was based on a novel and they put more effort into it. So if it continues like that I am looking forwards to S13.

  1. Good news indeed! A great character played brilliantly, with great scriptwriting and production values.
The moody scenery of north-east England makes me want to do up road trip up that way.
But I have always wondered what is Kenny’s back story; and why Vera does seem to be so testy with him at times. Perhaps this was all stated in the earlier episodes broadcast before I started watching.

  2. Of course she did again, that’s a given! I watched her 2 weeks ago on YouTube talking to Ann Cleeves the creator of Vera courtesy of Britbox.

  3. Pity that her sidekick Aiden will not be returning. But I was a late watcher so I am enjoying all the early ones now. But one of my favourite shows.
