Lights, camera, music! New teen series, filmed in Footscray, hits ABC ME today as a teel band discovers the power of music & friendship.

New teen drama Turn Up the Volume premieres today on ABC ME.

Inspired by the coming-of-age documentary No Time For Quiet which followed the first Girls Rock! Camp in Melbourne, Turn Up The Volume explores the power of music, friendship, and creativity.

Desperately looking for belonging, these teenagers find that, via the power of music and friendship, they can unite together to define themselves on their own terms.

The series is set in the Melbourne suburb of Footscray with Footscray Community Arts Centre and Kindred Studios serving as the venue for the music camp where the characters come together as a band, to rehearse, and perform.

The young cast features Riya Mandrawa, Ayiana Ncube, Mira Russo, Elaine King and Erza James. Further cast include Michala Banas, Justine Clarke, Spencer Maclaren, Keith Brockett, Yuka Iwasaki, Ben Chen, Kaiya Jones, Kevin Harrington, and Madison Lu.
