MAFS on top, Australian Survivor hits season high.

Australian Survivor keeps lifting as it heads towards its finale. New ABC drama launches soft. Nine wins Sunday.

Nine enjoyed another super Sunday with Married at First Sight continuing its reign at 927,000 metro viewers.

A week out from its finale Australian Survivor also reached a season high at 552,000, then Death in Paradise (485,000), both at 7:30pm, then Australian Idol (467,000) which was also a season high.

Later 60 Minutes led with 554,000 then An Audience with Adele (200,000), In Our Blood (192,000) and NCIS: Hawaii (170,000).

Nine network led Sunday with 35.2% then Seven 25.3%, 10 16.9%, ABC 14.4% and SBS 8.1%.

Nine News was 783,000 with a late edition at 278,000.

Seven News won its slot at 882,000.

The Sunday Project was 290,000 / 178,000 for 10. 10 News First was 191,000 / 151,000. FBI pulled 143,000 / 95,000.

ABC News drew 535,000 for ABC. Compass returned to 157,000 then Rampant: How a City Stopped A Plague (111,000).

On SBS it was SBS World News (154,000 / 108,000), Lost City of Gaul: Unearthing Bibracte (127,000), Edward VIII: Britain’s Traitor King (115,000).

Bluey led multichannels at 112,000.

In Total TV numbers last Sunday were:

Married at First Sight: 1.92m
Australian Survivor: 923,000
Vera: 1.34m
Australian Idol: 794,000
NCIS: Hawaii: 239,000
Insiders: 484,000

This will barely be picked up by anyone outside network research, sales and advertisers, but Survivor only three thousand (!) viewers behind Married in 16-39s demographic in Melbourne last night, wow fantastic 10. Also, Seven would be somewhat pleased their AFL delivered with the Idol promos, as well as boosts to Seven News and Thursday to Saturday shares, even if not a patch on Nine’s reality powerhouse. I think things will be tightening up now, certainly after Easter.

    1. 10 will undoubtedly be thrilled that Survivor did so well in the 16-39 demo in Melbourne. It shows that MAFS isn’t quite as invincible as many people think. There is still a huge gap between MAFS and everything else, especially in Total TV numbers. That being said, it is little wins like these that can eventually lead to much bigger victories.
