ABC goes Behind Bluey

Bluey creator Joe Brumm and members of the design, animation and production team are set to reveal trade secrets in a new podcast.

If you’ve ever wondered how an episode of Bluey is made, creator Joe Brumm and members of the design, animation and production team will talk shop in a new companion podcast launching on Monday 10th April.

“Making Bluey with Joe and this incredible team is a great privilege. This frank and funny podcast gives listeners a chance to hear how creative decisions are made and the exquisite details woven into every frame. Behind Bluey acknowledges the collective creative excellence and provides insight into the thought, effort, love and care that goes into creating a single episode,” says ABC Head of Children’s Libbie Doherty.

You can hear an excerpt here.

Behind Bluey is a rare opportunity for super fans, parents / carers and screen professionals to hear directly from some of the key Bluey creatives. They share the warts and all stories of the screen craft and how they make each episode super special.

For parents/carers, Behind Bluey is the perfect grown-up accompaniment to your Bluey family watching. You might even be able to impress the kids with a couple of (age-appropriate) insights, straight from the team behind the biggest little show on Earth.

  1. I believe Bluey is one of the more successful rated shows on Disney plus right now, though apparently ‘The company had to give audiences a chance to acclimate to the Bluey characters and the shows sense of humour’. Disney had banned an episode which will be released later this year unedited, because of jokes about flatulence. The U.S. version of Bluey has had many scenes removed from episodes that contained bathroom humour.
