Guest on Sunday’s Insiders is Opposition Leader Peter Dutton.
David Speers is joined by Niki Savva, Phil Coorey and Raf Epstein to analyse the Aston by-election result. Will the Liberals hold the mortgage-belt seat? Or will Labor be the first government since the 1920s to take a seat off the opposition at a by-election. It’s the first major electoral test of Anthony Albanese’s government and Peter Dutton’s leadership.

It’s also been an incredibly busy week in parliament – the final sitting week before the May Budget – with the government and the Greens reaching a deal to pass the climate bill. The government didn’t have as much luck with its $10b Housing Affordability Future Fund.
We’ll also discuss the Voice to Parliament following the introduction of the constitutional alteration bill yesterday by Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus.

I wonder if he will call in sick this morning!
In my opinion LNP opposition leader Peter Dutton still has to raise his profile more if he wants to be a potential future Prime Minister, but it looks like it will a long road ahead of him, even if Labor provide the LNP a few political free kicks along the way. Hopefully Mr. Dutton will appear more than his predecessors did on the ABC in the future.
