KAK: “Why do they hate me?”

For Kerri-Anne, it's a case of I'm a Celebrity and I'd Rather Play Golf, leaving viewers scratching their heads as to why she agreed to do the series.

Kerri-Anne Kennerley may just prove to be casting gold for 10’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here if she refuses to participate in the show’s most squeamish trials.

Having acknowledged she was given some special privileges, such as make-up, in order to say yes, she is proving reluctant with the show’s daily trials.

Last night Aesha and KAK needed to scoop the poop in some of the nastiest, smelliest, post-festival,  porta-loos in order to recover some essential items that had been dropped in.

“I’d rather play golf,” she insisted.

Without hesitation, Kerri-Anne uttered “I’m a celebrity…get me out of here!”, leaving Aesha alone to meet her faecal fate.

KAK returned to camp to let them know she pulled the pin on the trial, which left Dicko and the rest of the camp scratching their heads as to why KAK entered in the first place.

After being voted in again by viewers (in record numbers) for an unsavoury Tucker Trial on Thursday, KAK needs to recognise that Australians back someone giving it a go, but rarely the opposite.

It was The Bachelor‘s sobbing Kiera who was voted by viewers into more trial than any other participant in 2017, largely due to her perceived prima donna performance. Eventually viewers backed her perserverance and support moved from cynicism to respect.

Looking at social media comments on KAK, she looks destined for many more trials to come as viewers seem keen to test her breaking point.

Welcome to the jungle.

  1. I agree with some of the Twitter comments – I believe that if any celebrity yells “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!” during any challenge, I don’t think they should be allowed to eat any of the group’s meal – they should instead only be eating rice and beans!

  2. KAK is certainly running for the title of the Most Precious One in the Jungle. It’s interesting to see what she’s really like, although one wonders if she’s been instructed to ham it up for the show.

Either way, it’s good for the show, she’s stirring the pot.

  3. She’s doing it for the money like everyone who has to work and earn an income. No other network will give her a show or go and it’s the most talked about she’s been in years.

  4. I’m watching just to see KAK’s attitude towards the show and contestants.
In real life I have found her to be quiet and reserved so I was shocked she went in, you are seeing her true personality in there which is good, she is a pretty big TV star in Australia and has lived a Champaign lifestyle and it’s showing.

  5. Reality is ….. KAK is the ratings gold and the watercooler talk this show needs to succeed in its time slot. Even I’ve tuned in for some KAK controversy, twice this week.
Ten have a good balance this year, throw in another high profile ‘celebrity’ as the series rolls on and I’ll eat my words of saying this was going to sink earlier in the year.

The longer the likes of KAK and Dicko are in the Jungle, the viewers it should deliver.

  6. The funniest thing for me is that you can see on everyone’s faces that they want to have a go at Kerri- Anne but know they can’t do it or they will be made out to be the bad guy. Especially Dicko. Good on Aesha for doing so well and actually enjoying it. The one who I really like is Bianca. I had never heard of her before but I think she is lovely and entertaining, what we have seen of her.

  7. If anyone knows how to play to an audience it’s KAK. She’s already stirring the pot and creating a rumble in the jungle. She’s is a very shroud one to watch. The more people complain and belly ache (no pun intended to the contestants) the more people are going to keep voting her in. One social media comment stated they used all their votes to keep her in, but with most reality shows you need a villain and she has obviously been “edited” to be just that. I agree with Peter Ford’s comment….she’s no fool. If nothing else she’s got the nation riled up and causing controversy which is exactly what viewers love, so she is achieving that so far in spades. I’m loving the reactions of the people, it’s more entertaining than watching the show so far the way everyone is hot and bothered under their collars and getting all worked up over the show….Ten must be loving this….Good one KAK just hang in there.

  8. I don’t blame KAK, how the producers think of such awful trials is beyond me. Isn’t there a danger of catching some awful virus by contact with feacal matter? If the headlines here weren’t saying her name, I would not have recognised KAK. Is it just because she has no makeup or has she had work done?

  9. Going on I’m A Celebrity is certainly not helping KAK’s image. I can understand bending the rules for her a bit given her recent knee surgery, but she should at least participate in some of the show’s trials. Otherwise, there is no reason for her to be on the show.

  10. I think KAK is still searching for relevance when the sun set on her career long ago ,this may backfire for Ten as the ratings are slipping again and 5 episodes a week is just pure overkill ,I wonder what they paid her to appear.

  11. It beggars belief that Kerri-Anne didn’t talk to a single former contestant about their experience on the show.

This could have been the image makeover she needed, but instead she’s made it far worse.

  12. As soon as the audience sense you don’t want to be doing those trials you’ll be voted in each time. That would have been an easy trial to go to, might have got sprayed with a bit of slime but otherwise no bugs, heights, enclosed places or weird food to eat which makes up much of the challenges. Be interesting to see what happens tonight if she at least tries otherwise expect to be in every trial now.

  13. The thing no one has noticed is Aesha probably earned more stars eith kak gone. Kerri-Anne could’ve picked the loos with the most stars and failed. I know it’s better to try and fail then quit,, buy I think she did the right thing.

  14. She did say when she was interviewed that she was given some privileges like taking make up & not having to do some physical challenges as she had just had knee surgery which is fair enough. If you have a genuine phobia like heights or spiders fair enough. But being too preciousn because it is yucky not fair enough. Why had the producers been so desperate to have her on? They had to have known she wouldn’t do certain challenges. And then after poorAesha did them all herself to then tell her they will only accept half the stars was outrageous. Has she not watched the show before? The ones who refuse to do challenges get voted again & again.
