Today host Karl Stefanovic has been formally cautioned by Queensland Police following an alleged assault of a man at last August.
A waiter, who had been bartending for the Mr. Consistent catering company, lodged a report with Police after he was allegedly touched by Stefanovic at a charity event to raise funds for skin cancer research.
Details about the nature of the touching allegations were not made public.
“A 48-year-old Sunshine Beach man has been issued an adult caution for common assault,” a police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia.
An adult caution is a formal warning that may be administered by a police officer under Queensland’s Adult Cautioning Scheme. Cautioning provides a means of dealing with lower-end, non-habitual offending.
“The matter has now been finalised from a police perspective,” the spokeswoman said.
