Python bites Nick Cummins

Warning: distressing footage as Nick Cummins meets his match in a terrifying python attack.

Warning: distressing footage.

10 is teasing Nick Cummins copping a bite from a large python in tonight’s episode of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

In the brief promo, Cummins inserts his arm into a cage where a python responds to his presence, clamping its jaws into his hand, before wrapping itself around him.

While Cummins grimaces in pain, the hosts can be heard reacting.

The ‘Honey Badger’ is also supposed to face off with an actual honey badger tonight, but it sounds like the python upstages them all.

It’s not the first time contestants have been bitten by deadly African animals, including terrifying footage of Toni Pearen being bitten multiple times on the face.

Do not attempt at home….

  1. Ouch!…poor Nick….. I have a morbid fear of snakes and I had a herpetologist (yes a real occupation studying the reptilian kind) explained to me (to overcome my fear but sadly it only made it worse.) that a pythons teeth are set backwards to get a better grip so they can then coil themselves around their pray (not like snakes or vipers with their teeth tightly folded at their base because the fangs do the damage obviously). This is why they have a nasty bit because the common reaction is to pull your hand away which makes their teeth dig in further.
The makers who set up these challenges obviously know this but it’s cruel to do this to a person especially when it’s happened before and left nasty bits and marks as well as possible infection (pythons eat rats, birds and such) but I guess they believe it adds to the drama.
