Eddie McGuire sets his sights on scripted content

Eddie's JAM TV has the runs in sport, docos and live events, but new horizons are in the pipeline.

Eddie McGuire’s production company JAM TV has its sights set on moving into scripted production.

JAM TV has been very successful in sports, documentaries and live events including Making Their Mark, Show Me the Money, Fearless, Australian PGA Championship, The Sunday Footy Show, Footy Classified, NBL, AFLW, VFL, SANFL, WAFL, Invictus Games, Get On, Shane Warne Memorial, as well as Nine’s Hot Seat.

McGuire told TV Tonight, “We do a lot of sport, obviously. But we’re working on a couple of scripted shows at the moment … and lots of different things. The doco area has been very good for us. We do a lot of that.”

He would not be drawn on what scripted projects were in development.

Meanwhile an upcoming Cricket documentary will look to the rivalry between Australia & England through two legendary cricketers.

“The two blokes in question are great friends of mine who absolutely hate each other’s guts, Ian Botham & Ian Chappell. Chappell to me was the epitome of what Australian cricket was during the 70s the 80s. The captain of World Series Cricket, in charge of Dennis Lillee, Greg Chappell, Rod Marsh, Max Walker -all these great players,” he said.

“Then you’ve got Ian Botham who was almost Australian in the way he played, but was the antithesis of the Australians. He was the proud Englishman who went out and hit the runs to win the Ashes and took the catch that dismissed Jeff Thomson at the MCG.

“The show is why Australia and England have this amazing rivalry and then it’s their rivalry. They talk about each other, and then we put them face to face for the first time.”
