SBS, 10 up in latest ratings week.

Seven wins another week while Eurovision and MasterChef help the competition.

Eurovision Song Contest helped SBS to a strong performance this past week, including finishing fourth on Saturday night.

10’s delayed start to MasterChef Australia also lifted the netwotk together with a Project tribute to Jock Zonfrillo.

But the week again went to Seven including for Farmer Wants a Wife and the Coronation Concert.

  1. 7 Bravo seems to be performing very consistently across all of the demographics that are featured in the infographic, attracting 1.1% of 1.2% of all viewers in each demo. The new channel might not be attracting a large audience, but it does seem to be doing okay at bringing in a broad range of viewers.

  2. I wouldn’t say it’s big growth, though now NITV seems to be averaging 0.3, which seems to be up on the 0.1 and 0.2 that was the average total.

It goes with what was mentioned earlier that some multichannel are still experiencing some growth, despite the streaming platforms and services that have taken some viewers.

  3. I recognize weekly overnight wins are not the be all and end all but this makes it 6-5 to nine by my count and is closely aligned to recent past years (MAFS dominates q1, afl starts in q2). 9 have the SOO and the Ashes and Wimbledon coming up which could help a stronger q3 for 9; seven have the women’s soccer and the one-off icc test between India and Australia. Then q4 nine has the block. On the face of it, I see this as shaping up as a close but tough year for seven to win notwithstanding the strength of the afl.
