Water damage delays Dancing with the Stars

Water damage at Quay Centre pushes back recordings of Seven dancing series.

Production of of Dancing with the Stars has been delayed this week due to water damage at the venue, Quay Centre, Sydney Olympic Park.

A Seven spokesperson told TV Tonight, “Due to water damage at the venue over the weekend, filming on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars has been temporarily delayed. Production will resume later this week.”

The first of two events this week was to film yesterday, but both have now been rescheduled to Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

This is the first time DWTS has filmed at Quay Centre, previously using Darling Harbour and Moore Park venues.

Those delays are not expected to alter Seven’s broadcast plans.

  1. Do we know where specifically at the venue the water damage occured? While there is no good place for water damage to happen, it would be especially concerning if it happened in any parts of the venue that are being used by the contestants and the professional dancers, as well as areas that are open to the public.

    1. Seven used to air lots of shows live. But in recent years, just about every reality and panel shows are pre-recorded. Like DWTS, Big Brother, Australian Idol (and other singing shows etc). I assume its a cost cutting issue…
