ABC staff have made a public gathering in support of Q+A host Stan Grant today, behind ABC headquarters in Ultimo.
Staff have also walked out in Melbourne, Hobart and Canberra.
ABC staff and journalists chanted “We stand with Stan” holding signs of solidarity for their colleague, who hit out at ABC management in a column on Friday citing a lack of support over social media abuse.
Managing Director David Anderson yesterday issued an apology.
Guardian Australia‘s Natasha May said Grant’s family also thanked the crowd today for their support.

Huge turn out of ABC @withMEAA members standing with Stan Grant. The vile racism that has been thrown at him and other Indigenous staff members recently is not on #istandwithstan #werejectracism pic.twitter.com/EHcPm5U9to

A shame Beauty And The Beast TV show is still not on –
They could have asked for help from panelist Ita Buttrose.
As I had alluded to, ABC should take some blame for pushing voice and Australian republican agendas and narratives during the Coronation broadcast, when they could have shown family friendly content, such as how to make Coronation Chicken, Coronation Quiche, decorations etc. There’s already Q+A.
The non-neutrality and activism for political expediency is concerning in public broadcasting, especially in a country like Australia where transparency and fairness should be afforded in the media.
