US comedy Young Rock, which filmed seasons in Queensland, has been axed by NBC.
According to Deadline, Season 3 saw a dip in linear ratings compared to the previous season, to about 1.4m viewers -down from 2.23m viewers in Season 2. Season 1 was more than 3m viewers per episode.
The comedy focused on different chapters of Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson’s life: from growing up in a strong and resilient family to being surrounded by the wild characters of his professional wrestling family to playing football at the University of Miami and beyond.
The series featured Johnson plus Uli Latukefu, Bradley Constant and Adrian Groulx as younger versions alongside Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa, John Tui and Matthew Willig.
Production in Australia was overseen by Matchbox Pictures.
The series screened in Australia on FOX8.

It was fun playing spot the local Brisbane/Gold Coast landmarks. One of the scenes in series 1 was filmed across the road from where I worked.
@ David Knox – only seasons one and two were filmed in Australia, season three was filmed in Memphis Tennessee USA.
