Harry Garside cleared after charges dropped

"Today I have been vindicated," says I'm a Celebrity finalist after police drop charges.

Domestic violence charges against boxer Harry Garside have been dropped after audio recordings were supplied to NSW Police.

Last month Garside was met by NSW Police detectives when he arrived home from South Africa having filmed I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, accused of assaulting his former girlfriend Ashley Ruscoe in March.

Outside Sydney Downing Centre Local Court this morning he told press, “Today I have been vindicated. Moments ago the police prosecutor informed the court that they have dropped all matters against me.

“This was because my lawyers provided the recordings and communications that gave the police a full understanding of what happened – clearing me of any wrongdoing whatsoever.

“I am thankful for the diligence of the police in reviewing the overwhelming evidence in my favour and quickly moving to withdraw the proceedings.”

NSW Police also released a statement confirming the charges against Garside had been dropped after “new information was provided to detectives and police.” The AVO has also been dropped.
