The Voice takes top spot this week after the enabling legislation was passed by the Senate on Monday. It’s now up to all Australians to decide whether an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament is enshrined in the constitution. We drill into the polling data around the Voice with data journalist Casey Briggs in the first of a series of segments he’ll present for Insiders between now and referendum day.

The panel also discuss the ongoing standoff between the government and the Greens over the Housing Australia Future Fund with a vote on the $10bn housing policy delayed by the Greens in the Senate. The government has advice from the Solicitor-General that the delay constitutes a failure to pass the legislation which means it would become a double dissolution trigger later in the year if the senate says no again.

Cyber security is also on the agenda with the government announcing that Air Vice-Marshal Darren Goldie will become the country’s first co-ordinator of cybersecurity.

Plus Talking Pictures host Mike Bowers is joined by The Australian’s Jack the Insider for a look at the week’s best cartoons and photographs.
