Magician and circus performer, Justin Williams, last night won Seven reality contest Blow Up, winning a $100,000 prize.
The 31 year old from Victoria impressed judges with a giant underwater themed creation, scoring 18.5 points.
That was just enough to outscore Matt Falloon’s Pegasus creation at 18 points and Donna Cochrane’s Christmas themed display on 16.5 points.
All were very impressive as balloon displays go…
Like most reality finales there was swirling music, falling balloons (!), applause, tears and hugs.
But Seven’s show, hosted by Stephen Curry and Becky Lucas did not last long in its original timeslot, bumped to multichannel 7flix after just two episodes.
By the series final alas only 16,000 loyal metro viewers were left to see the winner crowned. They all deserve a balloon medal from Seven programming.

Better falling balloons than a bawling Falloon.
What a weird idea for a show.
That’s a huge 16c return per viewer for Seven. A Blow Up indeed.
I think $6.25 on that arithmetic?
How many episodes aired in total? woulda been cheaper to not air the remaining eps and save the $100k prize money for another show
All 8 eps aired, just only two on the main channel. The other 6 were on 7Flix.
I watched them on 7+ as SD looks horrible on a big screen.
Was amusing to hear everything being referred to as first winner. First and last I’d say.
That would be nice for Ch7 if it worked like that, however the competition is produced for TV (and the winner thus determined) long before it actually goes to air. Whether the show rates well or not is Ch7’s problem, not the contestants’.
Congratulations we will remember your name longer than who won The Voice last year 🙂
A new candidate for ‘most anticlimactic ending ever’!
