Super sports blitz by Nine

With a State of Origin and Ashes combo, Nine was still the one last week.

Sport was a huge drawcard last week, giving Nine an unbeatable share.

State of Origin II drew 1.84m metro viewers, although it rose to 3.02m when regional and BVOD was added, according to OzTAM.

9GEM also finished with an 8.7% share thanks to the Ashes. Nine even managed to tie the week with Seven in the West.

The return of Dancing with the Stars topped entertainment.

Elsewhere NITV had one of its best weeks with an 0.4% share, rarely eclipsing multichannel ABC ME.

  1. Thanks for the weekly summary, David. The Ashes almost helped Nine win the West for a change.
My highlight of the FTA viewing week was the 1960s English-village movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Just not sure why it was shown on NITV !
