  1. When this was announced I was non-plussed. Nothing I have seen here has changed this view. I’ll give it a chance, but Aunty could have got me something a little more exciting for my birthday.

  2. Using the same title and character names does not mean it is a remake. It does however mean that comparisons will be made.
I’m happy to give it a go in it’s own right. But if they go to a funeral, Maggie had better not buy those oranges this time.

  3. You know what? Good luck to them. I am not so precious about the original (which I loved, BTW) that it can’t be touched. And society has changed tremendously since the original came out. Our attitudes to the elderly have changed along with it. If the scripts hold a mirror to how we treat old people today, and start conversations, then it will have succeeded.

    1. I thought the same thing when I saw it…and I thought Margret would probably be funnier and more stingy in the role just like she is on The Weekly.

  4. Well ummm well, ” have created the perfect blend of wit, humour, and relatability, promising viewers an unforgettable and laughter-filled experience.” well, ummmmmm, I just think I’ll stick to the original……. Next
