Airdate: C*A*U*G*H*T

Six part hostage comedy C*A*U*G*H*T will premiere on Stan in September with a top-shelf mix of Australian and international stars.

The cast includes Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon, Travis Fimmel, Matthew Fox, Bryan Brown, Tuppence Middleton star in the six-episode series, join director, producer and writer Kick Gurry, Ben O’Toole, Lincoln Younes, Alexander England, Mel Jarnson, Fayssal Bazzi and Dorian Nkono plus Rebecca Breeds, Bella Heathcote and Erik Thomson.

There are also unexpected cameos from Nine network stars.

The series marks the directorial debut of actor Kick Gurry, who is also writer and producer. It is set to launch in the UK on ITVX in October following a deal with Fremantle.

Our troops aren’t safe. Neither are our DMs. After the Australian Minister of Defence (Erik Thomson) texts a ‘secret file’ to the Princess of Behati-Prinsloo, a small island nation, he sends four Australian soldiers (Gurry, O’Toole, England and Younes) into the war-torn country on a secret mission to retrieve the file.

Mistaken for Americans, they are captured by freedom fighters (Bazzi, Jarnson and Nkono) and produce a hostage video that goes viral. When the soldiers reach celebrity status on social media, they realise that being caught might just be the best thing that could’ve happened to them. They’re about to make search history.
