Emmy Awards move to January 2024

Strikes force Hollywood to change 75th awards ceremony to mid January.

It’s official.

The 2023 Emmy Awards will move to 2024, to be held on Monday, January 15 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) at the Peacock Theater.

They were originally scheduled for September 18.

The change, unsurprisingly, is due to the ongoing strikes, with the Writers’ Strike having passed 100 days and the SAG-AFTRA strike in its 4th week.

The Creative Arts Emmys will now take place over two nights across the previous weekend, January 6 and 7.

However the Golden Globe Awards has already announced that it will take place on January 7, but is yet to confirm a broadcaster.

Succession leads the Emmy nominations with 27 followed by Ted Lasso with 21 nominations.
