UK series Extraordinary Escapes returns for a third season on ABC this week.

In each episode Sandi Toksvig turns tour guide who encourages each of her guests to stop, ponder and enjoy the simple joys found in nature and the world around us.

First guest is Eddie Izzard also known as Suzy Izzard.

Each of the properties, ranging from unique historical renovations, architecturally outstanding new-builds and super-eco hideaways, are built to take advantage of the stunning locations they occupy. From a super-contemporary boathouse hovering over the water’s edge in the Lake District, to an isolated Irish Cottage perched on a hillside in rural County Kerry – Sandi finds plenty of time for candid ‘off-duty’ chats and
revealing conversation.

  1. I had seen another episode of this program. It’s interesting. It’s like an Airbnb camping trip. Sandi has a way of getting people to feel at ease and open up. It’s thought-provoking and emotive at times. It’s certainly no Getaway.
