The Voice tops Monday entertainment

Ratings race resumes some normality with a winning night for Seven. Have You Been Paying Attention? leads later slot.

With major sporting events run and done, last night there was a return to some normality in TV ratings.

The Voice topped entertainment at 681,000 metro viewers.

That was ahead of The Block (619,000 which topped older demos), 7:30 (478,000), Back Roads (434,000) and The Traitors (268,000)

Later Have You Been Paying Attention? was 521,000 and topping younger demos, then Media Watch (408,000), Four Corners (392,000) and Missing Persons Investigation (281,000).

Seven network led with 31.4% then Nine 26.8%, 10 17.6%, ABC 16.9% and SBS 7.3%.

Seven News was #1 at 959,000 / 947,000. The Chase led with 549,000 / 314,000 then Home & Away (470,000). The Rookie was 259,000 with The Rookie: Feds at 117,000.

Nine News (803,000 / 786,000) was best for Nine. A Current Affair led with 671,000 then Hot Seat 386,000 / 232,000. Across the network were Footy Classified (116,000) and 100% Footy (64,000).

The Project drew 291,000 / 199,000 for 10. 10 News First was 206,000 / 171,000. Just for Laughs Montreal was 161,000.

ABC News pulled 611,000. Q+A (185,000) and The Drum (136,000) followed.

On SBS it was SBS World News (146,000 / 106,000), Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes (93,000), 24 Hours In Emergency (71,000) and Britain’s Most Expensive Houses (62,000).

Peppa Pig topped multichannels at 106,000.

  1. I’ve watched the last couple of seasons of The Voice and IMO, this season is the best for seven so far. It seems they’ve heard the feedback, reduced the backstories or at least made them crisper, reduced the needless banter between the judges (still a little too much for my liking) and the quality of the performers this year is excellent (we rarely see a no chair turn which I’m personally fine with). I am also enjoying when the judges occasionally get up and sing with the contestant.

  2. I love the picture on this article. That duet gives me goosebumps! Guy Sebastian is such a great vocalist in our country. And I hope that contestant goes a long way in this competition.

  3. Just a mildly interesting thing.

    That was the highest rated ep of Traitors excluding the episode that aired on Melb Cup day last year.

    I know low bar, but still hopeful that it gets an Season 3.
