The Australian / UK co-production revolves around raging bushfires and deep seeded family secrets.
Starring Pia Miranda, Darren McMullen, Jane Allsop, Danny Dyer and Olympia Valance, Heat sees two families reunite for an annual summer holiday in the Victorian highlands where tensions quickly begin to simmer under the surface.
As a searing bushfire ravages the surrounding bushland, an unravelling of lies and deceit will rock these lifelong friends to the core.
The series written by Jason Herbison (Neighbours) is directed by Kate Kendall (Neighbours, Playing for Keeps) and produced by Fremantle.

Great to see some more drama on free to air – desperately needed.
9.00pm is a bit late though and I would have thought a 7.30pm timeslot would work better. At that time it will be very lucky to get 300, 000 viewers.

By the looks of things, bushfires are about to be very topical again. That said, I don’t recall any bushfire dramas the UK has co-commissioned.
Would be even more topical and innovative if it was set in Britain, given the way things are going. Ever see ‘The Day The Earth Caught Fire’ 1960?
