Paul Fenech’s latest comedy series Darradong Local Council is reportedly coming to 7mate in October.
The 8 part series features a dodgy mayor who does sly deals with Chinese property developers. A Greens councillor who wants to boycott Saudi Arabia for its treatment of feral cats. And a lazy council worker who refuses to go to the toilet during his smoko break, holding it in so he can “reduce the workday”.
Joining Paul Fenech are George Kapiniaris, Melissa Tkautz and Gary Who.
The prolific Fenech has previously produced Housos, Fat Pizza and Bogan Hunters.

This must have been filmed ages ago, as the clip included has Annalise Braakensiek in it, who we sadly lost in 2019?
Maybe there will be a tribute, it was published 5 months ago.
Well you know what you will get with a Paul French show and it isn’t my cup of tea.
But your article did remind me of a gem of a show that never appears on TV or streaming services anymore – Grassroots. It was witty look at local government and its various machinations. Having worked in local government I thought it was a fair &^$# take of what sometimes happens in LG, just like in any other industry. But that show was done with some intellect.
