More talk shows delay return during US strike

Real Time with Bill Maher, The Jennifer Hudson Show hit pause.

Further US shows are delaying their return following criticism that they were poised to cross picket lines.

Real Time with Bill Maher has delayed his return despite an emotive statement that he would resume broadcasts to aid other crew members.

“My decision to return to work was made when it seemed nothing was happening and there was no end in sight to this strike,” he has since said via social media. “Now that both sides have agreed to go back to the negotiating table I’m going to delay the return of Real Time, for now, and hope they can finally get this done.”

Deadline is also reporting that after much discussion, The Jennifer Hudson Show is pausing production and delaying its season two premiere, which was set for Monday, September 18 (today US).

Real Time screens in Australia on Foxtel, but The Jennifer Hudson Show does not screen in Australia.

These follow both The Drew Barrymore Show and The Talk backflipping on their previously announced plans to return.
