The Traitors ends in a world first

$208,000 in silver was up for grabs by the final episode, and then it happened...

The Traitors wrapped its second season on 10 last night with a world first….  three Traitors were left standing after the final Banishment ceremony after all Faithfuls had been eliminated.

Original Traitors Sam and Blake were joined by their recruit Camille, who had been flipped from a Faithful late in the season.

As the finale opened only two Faithfuls remained: Liam and Sarah.

After Liam’s banishment, the three remaining Traitors voted Sarah out.

That left them with silver bars worth $208,000 but a dilemma: to ‘share’ or ‘steal’ the loot.

Despite openly agreeing to sharing the silver Sam voted to steal, as did Blake -meaning they would share it 50/50 if Camille voted to share.

But a mistrustful Camille had quickly come to know her teammates and also voted to steal.

“If I wasn’t going to win, none of us were,” she quipped. Ouch.

Host Rodger Corser delivered the bad news: none of them would win anything. Another world first.

Blake was crushed by the news, unable to hold back the tears. He looked a broken man who was clearly counting on the loot to change his life.

Sam was stunned, if not angered, that all the work he had done across the series in orchestrating the exit of 17 players had been for nought. He blamed Camille for all three walking away empty-handed, but was not held to account for turning on his own teammate in Blake.

Camille was having none of it, basically accusing him of hypocrisy, which will probably sting until the next casting phone call from a Reality TV producer (lookin’ at you Australian Survivor).

Did that all make it an anti-climax for viewers…? Not entirely. Online many were giddy with the outcome.

Fans who have watched the 10 show have been very complimentary of the gameplay. But there just haven’t been enough of them now for two seasons. While the show’s brand grows worldwide, including winning awards, in Australia it is yet to fire for 10.

That said, host Rodger Corser in farewelling viewers teased, “If you’re the type who would happily throw your own mother under a bus for an incredibly large pile of silver, why not come and join us next time we play?”

The network now faces the ultimate dilemma: to banish or share the show in 2024?

  1. I know it’s probably a bit of a waste of time posting on a story that’s a couple of weeks old but on the off chance that anybody sees it here’s my two cents.
For the life of me I don’t know what show the rest of you are watching, because simply put it’s a dumb strategy game as there is no strategy to it.
The vast majority of contestants are faithful and they have no way of determining who the traitors are as the game provides no opportunity to gain any confirmed facts, leaving them with the option of randomly selecting a name and arguing with each other over nothing basically. Because eye contact or Chinese whispers over somebodies gut feeling is all they have.
The traitors are way over powered as they can eliminate anybody they want basically at any point with no recourse from the faithful. At the very least maybe they should be required to stick a murder card in a faithfuls pocket to kill them or some sort of task where there is a chance they could be caught out.

  2. That was an absolutely delicious finale! I’m absolutely happy with the way that played out, if only to see the smug grin wiped off Sam’s face. Good on Camille for making that choice, but I really do feel for Blake who was a victim of his own lack of assertiveness against Sam. Still, another terrific season. Very much hope for a third visit to Hotel Corser.

  3. Sam played a great game and manipulated everyone to get his way, but his arrogance at his anger towards Camille for not rolling over and just letting him win was just petty and I’m glad he walked away with nothing.

  4. Was quite satisfying see Sam go home with nothing. He wasn’t a strategic mastermind – just on a power trip amongst some of the dumbest contestants ever on reality TV.

Great though how in the four English language versions I’ve seen so far we’ve had four different endings.

  5. For my 2 cents worth, I loved the finale, but most of the season was frustrating to watch. I think this show has the potential to be an “intellectual” version of Survivor, i.e. Survivor without the physical part. However, the casting was terrible this season, too many “look at me” types and not enough “game players”. Sam was fantastic, but he needed more competition. What was missing were a lot more people like Luke and Annabel. They weren’t alone, Camille certainly deserved her spot and a few others, but most really were “dummies” and that was very disappointing.

    1. Agreed.

The ‘same scenario’ played out at the table, on repeat. Despite them seeing it happen, on repeat.
They just had to see ‘why’ it was happening, on repeat and that would lead them to, Sam.
      But,
They didn’t. One dummy after another at the table would fall for the reverse psychology, on repeat.

It was obvious from the Ash banishment forward.
Ash even said in parting words “you’re all dummies”. Now why would she say that if they had just got her out as a traitor. (Because they didn’t get her out, Sam did).

  6. Why does everyone here think banishing Camille would have been the better play? Sam made it clear he was stealing no matter what, and Blake knew it. So it would have ended in a similar way.

The best move would be to banish Sam, then there are options.

  7. I had a feeling that all 3 Traitors were going to write down “steal”. And Sam was pretty good at the gameplay and I would love to see him on Survivor (on the same season as Luke Toki if he plays again). And I hope there is a season 3 of The Traitors because it is a pretty good show and they can’t leave that $208,000 unclaimed.

  8. After seeing a promo on Channel 10. When they said it was the funniest ending of all The Traitors worldwide, I had my suspicions that no one would go home with the money.

I was right LOL. Serve themselves right.

Sam and Blake should have banished Camille, and gone to the end with either Liam or Sarah.

  9. Was the best I’ve seen, better than series 1. Was crushed that Blake ended up with nothing. They (Sam & Blake) should have banished Camille earlier. Then they would have got the silver between them. I can’t remember what Rodger said if there was still 1 faithful remaining with 2 traitors still there. Anyway this series was the best. Hopefully Channel 10 will make another series next year.

  10. This season has been most frustrating for me to watch. As some banished faithfuls rightfully describe this season as ‘dummies’. What a great ending. I was so satisfied that the most arrogant ‘I don’t miss’ traitor finally got played.

In my humble opinion, Camille is the best player this season.

  11. In my opinion the ending was far from anti-climactic, it was wondefully redemptive for what has been a tirelessly flat series being basically run by one player in an array of narcissistic and sociopathic behaviour. Seeing him walk away with nothing was glorious.

  12. It was a fun but frustrating show in the second run, but bloody hell that ending.

But I need applications back open, after that frustrating run I got to get in the hotel.

  13. I only started watching Traitors after I got sick of the nasty people in houses 2 and 3 on The Block. Mainly because Luke was on it, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Easy to be annoyed at the seemingly silly choices that were made but it’s obviously different when you know who the Traitors are and they don’t. Great finish. I would watch another series of it.

  14. I found it so so so satisfying last night to see how it played out. It is a terrific show, if the uk enjoyed the first season they will love this one also. I love it, love it, love it

  15. I could not stop laughing. The ultimate “what goes around comes around” in the most brutal way. Blake and Sam may have played almost perfect traitor games but wow did they make some silly mistakes late. I would’ve gotten rid of Camille during that first banishment because you could always count on Sarah to make the wrong decision. I mean… they were surrounded by the most clueless faithfuls I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure Sarah ever wrote down a Traitor’s name during the entire run, even when she had three traitors and a single faithful in Liam left to choose from, she helped weed him out. They have to be the most clueless bunch of innocent people I’ve ever seen. Gold. At least 10 saved themselves $208,000, they would have been delighted! On Instagram, Sam has made it very clear he wants more TV work so I’m predicting we will see him again very soon somewhere… and hope it comes back… just don’t pit it against the Block for God sake!
