Paul Fenech’s latest comedy sensation Darradong Council is coming to 7mate later this month.

The 8 part series features a dodgy mayor who does sly deals with Chinese property developers. A Greens councillor who wants to boycott Saudi Arabia for its treatment of feral cats. And a lazy council worker who refuses to go to the toilet during his smoko break, holding it in so he can “reduce the workday”.

In addition to Fenech the cast includes George Kapiniaris, Garry Who, Vince Sorrenti, Angry Anderson, Yvie Jones, Melissa Tkautz, Jordan Shanks and more.

“It’s all about the corruption, lazy council workers, the stuff you see in the news all the time,” Fenech tells Real Sydney News.

“A lot of it is straight out of the headlines. Councils are an easy source of material because you can’t believe some of the stuff they’ve actually done.”

In episode one Mayor Theo (Kapiniaris) asks Fox (Fenech) to steal lawn furniture for his ex wife, leading to a massive punch up with rivals at Moorefields Council.

    1. Mine too…even worse…in every post on Facebook..there is a a picture of our local councillor taking up most of the selfie….but is supposed to promote the local seaside area…well what bit you can see of it that is 😂

        Sounds just like our illustrious Mayor – he just loves a photo opportunity.
        He’s always front and centre , with his dazzling white teeth prominently on display.
        I live in a seaside town too…must be something in the water : )
