Axed: The Afterparty

Updated: Antholgy murder mystery ends the party at two seasons, but producers seeking a new home.

Murder mystery comedy series The Afterparty has been axed by Apple TV+ after two seasons.

There is no statement on the show’s demise but it is confirmed by several US media.

The anthology series starred Tiffany Haddish as an ex-cop private eye looking to solve murder cases, with Sam Richardson and Zoë Chao. In season two, a wedding is ruined when the groom is murdered and every guest is a suspect.

Other cast included Ike Barinholtz, Ben Schwartz, Ilana Glazer, Jamie Demetriou, Dave Franco, John Cho, Paul Walter Hauser, Ken Jeong, Anna Konkle, Poppy Liu, Elizabeth Perkins, Jack Whitehall, Zach Woods and Vivian Wu.

The series was created by Chris Miller (The Last Man on Earth, Hoops, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs).

Updated: The studio behind the series, Sony Pictures Television, plans to shop it to other platforms.

  1. A shame it’s ending as this was a bit of fun, season two did seem like more of the same and where else can they go with the themed residues etc so maybe best it ends at two seasons before it got too similar season to season.
