Paramount+ sets ad-supported, premium tiers.

Ad-supported tier coming in 2024.

Paramount+ is set to launch an ad-supported tier in several major markets in 2024, including Australia and Canada.

An ad-free Premium plan, which allows subscribers to access four concurrent streams rather than two on the standard plan, will also launch in Australia on November 16.

Paramount+ is now focused on “scaling our business and providing customer choice,” said Marco Nobili, executive VP and international general manager for Paramount+.

He added that the launch of the ad-supported and Premium plans will allow the company to “better serve different consumer segments by providing multiple pricing options while also tapping into tremendous opportunities among our advertising and brand partners.”

The premium plan will be priced at $13.99 monthly and $124.99 annually.

  1. Oh dear. These streaming services are going to kill the golden goose aren’t they?

It may be getting to the stage where it is cheaper to buy shows off iTunes etc. rather than subscribe….or heaven forbid, people decide to sail the high seas again and the companies completely lose out.

  2. I can think of a better “ad-supported” tier for Paramount+. It’s called Network Ten. Scrap some of those nth repeats on Bold/Peach/Nickelodeon and maybe, just maybe people will tune in.

I’m not even sure what function Nickelodeon is supposed to serve as it’s essentially a dumping ground for cheaply licensed catalogue content and Channel 10 repeats. Isn’t that what 10Play is for?
