Barrumbi Kids wins in Chicago

NITV and ABC shows awarded at the children’s film festival in the world.

First Nations series Barrumbi Kids has won 1st Prize from the Children’s Jury at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival in the Live-Action TV category.

The NITV series is produced by Tamarind Tree Pictures, Ambience Entertainment and the Australian Children’s Television Foundation.

The 40th CICFF is now the oldest children’s film festival in the USA and the largest in the world.

Executive Producer, Bernadette O’Mahony said: “We love how the children’s jury in Chicago embraced such a distinctive Top End series, and how engaged they were in the adventures of Tomias and Dahlia and Barrumbi Kids.”

ABC’s The Strange Chores by Ludo Studios was also awarded a Second Prize in the Animated Television category.
