Good news everybody.
Futurama has been renewed for two more seasons.
An 11th season of the animated series -after a “brief 10 year hiatus”- with its first 10 episodes.
There’s no word yet when the next 10 will screen, but likely in 2024.
The revival saw the return of original cast members John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr and David Herman.
Futurama screens in Australia on Disney+.

This last season was an incredibly welcome return and it felt great having it back…until the last two episodes which just went weird.
Great, still very underrated animated sitcom, naturally for Simpsons fans. This show really found its Aussie fanbase after Ten got the 20C Fox output from Seven in the late-2000s (bar Simpsons), re-runs and first runs, often over summer and usually after Neighbours, continued to “The 7pm Project” in 2009 and even in Sydney/Brisbane on Saturdays during AFL until 2011 and then moved to “Eleven” (now Peach) and then Seven got the rights back In 2018 after Ten’s output got terminated in 2017. And now Disney handle 20C.
It blew my mind at the time that the premiere episode scored over 1 mil in the ratings on Ten (if I recall correctly), playing off the back of The Simpsons (which I seem to recall it outrated). Seriously impressive figures for a (then) nearly decade old show.
Of course, Ten had to ruin a good thing by playing it at 7pm weeknights, in addition to occasional 8pm screenings during the week, which was complete overkill for a show that only had 72 episodes to spare.
I seem to recall Futurama premiered on Seven, but then years later made its way over to Eleven (as it was known), perhaps that’s when it was screened at 7pm weeknights?? Anyone out there know for sure?
Whoops, should’ve read Sully’s comment more closely :)
