Such a great pity that Call the Midwife didnt rate again. Laura Main (S1-2) as Sr. Bernadette singing. It really is her singing. Laura is also a musical theatre star. (In breaks from Midwife). Laura does all the singing in the show. The show is still filming s13. Sr. Bernadette renounces vows and reverts back to Shelagh Manion. Then marries Dr Patrick Turner after they fell for each other. S2 starts on next Sunday. The show is nominated for a PC Awards as is Jenny Agutter. Look forward to show rating again. Shetland rating because Douglas Henshall soon leaving.
Not rating on 7Two because it’s been seen before many times. First shown on ABC and repeated, available on iview, showing on Fox (BBC first) and also on Stan.
It does rate on 72, just perhaps not s1. It usually rates 3-5-10. Albeit that was when show was on Tuesday nights 7.30pm. The shows main ie now fave couple are Dr Patrick and Nurse/Midwife Shelagh Turner, and have been since season 2, but mainly, after they married. They remain the fave couple now. Latter seasons ie 9-12, rated 3-7?. Yes, on channel 2/abc. 72 or abc last repeated s4 a few months ago, then stopped. I was waiting for s5. Then 6. s2, a fave; 4, 5, and 6 is Shelaghs miracle pregnancy and birth. ie she was told to be infertile re TB. I do not have pay TV of any kind. I do have iview, and dvd sets of s1 – 12. I do though want to see s12 on prime time tv. Not pay tv. Midwife is one of the best historically accurate tv dramas on tv. Apart from MASH and Dr Quinn Medicine Woman. Indeed, some illnesses/conditions have appeared on both Dr Quinn, and Midwife.
I understand it because my first attempted career from school was nursing, and wore same uniform.
Further to 2nd post, Midwife s9 screened on channel 2 in Sept. The ep being the infamous Sound of Music one. ie the film was released, and Patrick and Shelaghs 3 older kids gave them tickets to see it. After film, they compared it with their story. Teen son is Patricks son with late wife, daughter was adopted at birth. Other girl is fostered. The ep is another fave.
Not surprised Dessert Masters flopped. The French Guy is not a good TV talent
I wouldn’t call it a flop, and Swiss-French host is a great get.
I think it’s too soon to say it’s a flop. If every other episode rates over the premier ep, it ain’t a flop. Also people thought manu being a French guy on mkr was bad. Look how that turned out for him!
