Golden Globe Awards 2024: nominees

Nominees include Elizabeth Debicki, Sarah Snook, The Last of Us, The Bear, Only Murders in the Building.

Australia’s Sarah Snook and Elizabeth Debicki have both been nominated for Golden Globe Awards, in an overnight announcement from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Snook was nominated for her role as Siobhan “Shiv” Roy in Succession with Debicki as Princess Diana in The Crown.

Succession led the TV nominations with a total of nine nods. It will compete with 1923, The Crown, The Diplomat, The Last of Us and The Morning Show.

The Bear and Only Murders in the Building followed at five each.

The Golden Globes will screen in Australia on Stan live from Los Angeles on January 8th. The Red Carpet will screen from 11am AEDT followed by the awards at 12pm.

  1. This makes it seem like it was not a good year for tv. The Diplomat was pretty low quality, some of these shows are lucky the big ticket HBO shows were outside the eligibility period.

    I hope Beef wins limited series.

  2. This is abysmal in terms of progression. Yes it was great to rebuild the Golden Globes to be more diverse – but are they receiving screeners for shows yet to finish premiering for the next few months (eg Fargo, The Curse) because the only reason Emma Stone is nominated there is pure name value. But also the idea that anyone be it viewer or reviewer to think the Crown’s first 4 episodes were filled with award winning performances are laughable.

    The saddest thing is that with all their obsession with stars and glam -at least before you could expect someone who wouldnt get recognised elsewhere to get their big break here, (off the top of my head the last few years Gina Rodriguez, Rachel Bloom).
