Airdate: Five Blind Dates

Prime's first feature film made in Australia is a romantic comedy about a young woman pressured by family to date five different suitors.

Prime Video has released the trailer for upcoming romantic comedy  Five Blind Dates – the first feature film produced locally by Prime Video in Australia.

The film is co-created and co-written by actor Shuang Hu (The Family Law), and actor and comedian Nathan Ramos-Park (As We Babble On).

The cast also includes Ilai Swindells, Yoson An, Jon Prasida, Desmond Chiam, Ilai Swindells, Tiffany Wong, Renee Lim with Rob Collins, and Tzi Ma.

Twenty-something Lia (Hu) is stuck. Faced with her failing traditional Chinese tea shop inherited from her beloved grandma, and the prospect of attending her younger sister’s impending wedding single and alone, she is reluctantly gifted with a prophecy – the fate of her shop and her love life are intertwined, and the secret lies in one of her next five dates. Under pressure from her family, Lia agrees to be set up with five different suitors. With her best friend Mason (Ilai Swindells) by her side, will Lia find herself (and love), or risk disappointing those she loves the most and losing the business she has put her whole life into. 

Five Blind Dates is produced by Amazon Studios and Goalpost Pictures Australia, with Goalpost’s Kylie du Fresne as producer and Ben Grant and Rosemary Blight as executive producers. Shuang Hu and Nathan Ramos-Park also serve as producers. Shawn Seet serves as director.
