Hubbl confirms launch apps

Streaming designed to be easier with Subscription & Free to Air brought together in one Hubbl interface for simple search, billing and operation.

Foxtel Group has today announced the global and local streaming apps that will be available on its upcoming Hubbl product.

Streaming services Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Stan*, Paramount+* will be available alongside Kayo Sports, Binge, ABC iView, ABC Kids, SBS On Demand, 7plus, 9Now and 10 Play, Optus Sport*, Flash and YouTube.

As part of the launch  LifeStyle, will also launch with Selling Houses Australia, Love It or List It Australia, The Great Australian Bake Off, Grand Designs Australia, Property Brothers, Gogglebox, MasterChef,  and content from the full LifeStyle group of channels, including REAL Life.

Hubbl aggregates apps to make streaming, searching between apps, watching and subscription management into a single experience.

Hubbl Glass is a TV with Hubbl and a high-quality, built-in sound bar that only requires an internet connection and a power cord, no other wires.

A Hubbl puck is also available as a small device that plugs into any compatible TV.  Pricing, specs, features and on-sale date are yet to be confirmed.

Separate subscriptions are also required for paid streaming services. LifeStyle will be available at $8/month for one stream (up to HD quality).

Patrick Delany, CEO of Hubbl, says, “Hubbl will effortlessly fuse free and paid entertainment and sport from Australia’s favourite apps, channels, live TV and the internet into one seamless user experience.

“Hubbl is only as good as the breadth and depth of apps integrated onto the platform to ensure a truly converged streaming experience and in removing frustration when it comes to the choice of what to watch. It’s a huge testament to the transformative Hubbl technology that these world-class and much loved local partners have chosen to reshape the streaming experience with us. The future of TV and streaming is here.”

* Stan, Optus Sport and Paramount+ will join the Hubbl platform soon after launch.

  1. Sounds a lot like a Google Chromecast. It’s confusing Foxtel are still trying to flog hardware in 2024. What’s the incentive in buying another box. I think Foxtel need to consider a flat monthly subscription fee that gets you access to multiple streaming services rather then relying on individual subscriptions to sell a product.

    1. Not really. It includes Subscription management, but I believe you don’t need to enter and exit the different apps to access and search. Optus TV offers some bundling, but I’m not sure it works out cheaper than separate subs -difficult given there are third parties.

  2. So is Foxtels long term plan to make a streaming app for every channel and therefore we will end up paying the same, if not more than a regular Foxtel subscription. I assume Gogglebox etc will leave Binge, making it even less attractive since the recent price hike.

    1. With the Discovery channels added to Binge earlier in the month and 4k coming to Kayo next month l, Binge Kayo and Flash seem to have all channels except +2, Movies, Sky Racing, MTV channels and the foreign language channels.
