Report: Jarrod Villani departs Paramount ANZ

One of 10 / Paramount's joint bosses has gone as the company culls some 800 positions.

Paramount ANZ Executive Vice President, Chief Operating & Commercial Officer & Regional Lead, Paramount ANZ, has departed the company after three years, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Villani joined the company as Chief Operating And Commercial Officer in early 2021, and in 2023 was appointed co-lead alongside Beverley McGarvey who is Executive Vice President, Chief Content Officer & Head of Paramount+, Paramount ANZ.

Villani was responsible for Paramount’s commercial activities and strategy in both Australia and New Zealand.

“The way that we look at the role is not dissimilar to a CEO and chairperson type relationship. The CEO role for Bev is across the content and mine is across the operational and commercial side. When there are large decisions in either one of those areas then one will consult with the other,” Villani once told Mediaweek.

Beverley McGarvey will now stay on as sole boss in Australia.

Yesterday Australian Paramount staff were advised of redundancies as part of 800 global job cuts, around 3% of its workforce.

This week Network 10 alsolost a profile court battle with presenter Lisa Wilkinson in a dispute over legal fees, but it is not yet clear how much it will have to pay, nor how they are impacted by another defamation case underway with Bruce Lehrmann.

A Paramount spokesperson told TV Tonight, “We decline to comment.”

  1. Based on programming decisions over the past 4 years, I think they’ve let the wrong exec go.

Through countless rounds of redundancies and flattening of the structure, the Programmer/now-CEO has survived. Incredible.

If 10 was a public company, shareholders would be demanding Beverly moves on.
