Rita Panahi Show to replace Piers Morgan Uncensored

Weekly show hosted by Rita Panahi expands to 4 nights a week after Piers Morgan quits broadcast.

SKY News has announced an expansion of The Rita Panahi Show  from Fridays to Monday – Thursday at 11pm AEDT from next week after screening the last one-hour Piers Morgan Uncensored last night.

Piers Morgan Uncensored has driven strong online audiences across SKY News Australia’s digital platforms generating more than 150 million views and has consistently ranked within our top five programs for online viewership across our digital network,” SKY News said in a statement.

“A selection of the best moments from the Piers Morgan Uncensored TV show, including Piers Morgan’s blockbuster interviews and thought-provoking debates, will continue to be available on demand via the SkyNews.com.au Streaming Subscription service.”

Yesterday Morgan announced he was pulling his show from TalkTV in the UK after almost two years, to escape the “straightjacket” of a nightly show.

“There’s something quite anachronistic about a show like mine still trying to create old fashioned TV for a pre-scheduled time slot each night for a relatively small audience – when we’re getting such gigantic audiences digitally,” Morgan told website Semafor.

  1. I watched a show during the first week he was on Sky because of all the hype and found him to be arrogant, rude, and constantly interrupting and talking over his guest.

  2. I can’t believe Sky News Aus made such a big deal of “signing” him in the first place – there was a series of nauseating adverts promoting his “signing” to Sky….and basically it was found that it had nothing to do with Australia, aussie news or content – so basically we were sold a pup..

I am not a fan of the smirking panahi but she is better than foreign content on our aussie news channel
