Joyland (2022) Tuesday, 27 February
Following a long spell of unemployment, Haider lands a job at a Bollywood-style burlesque as a backup dancer and becomes infatuated with a strong-willed trans woman, Biba. Directed by Saim Sadiq and Maggie Briggs, starring Ali Junejo, Rasti Farooq, Alina Khan.

Jump Darling (2020) Wednesday, 28 February
A rookie drag queen reeling from a breakup escapes to the country, where he finds his grandmother in steep decline, yet desperate to avoid the local nursing home. Directed by Phil Connell, starring Cloris Leachman, Thomas Duplessie, Jayne Eastwood.

Benedetta (2021) Thursday, 29 February
Based on a true story, a 17th-century nun becomes entangled in a forbidden lesbian affair with a novice. Directed by Paul Verhoeven and stars Virginie Efira, Charlotte Rampling, Daphne Patakia.

A retired hairdresser escapes his nursing home and embarks on an odyssey across his small town to style a dead woman’s hair for her funeral, confronting the ghosts of his past and rediscovering his sparkle along the way.   1. Since Monday night, I’d been struggling to get The Blonde One (and its two very attractive leads) out of my head – I finished watching it just now, it’s slow-moving but quietly devastating in its own way.
