  1. Jodie Foster has been an expected highlight, but I’ve found this season incredibly boring so far. I have to say I’m in the minority who think the first season is overrated too, so perhaps True Detective just isn’t for me.

  2. Yeah despite many criticisms, I’m enjoying the dark tone of this season and seeing Jodi Foster front and centre as quite an awfully flawed anti-hero is a bold move that I think works.

  3. A very apt quote from the Truedetective Subreddit.

It’s not even a detective show.

It’s a poorly written, poorly directed, CW fantasy-drama on an HBO budget passing thanks to some sort of fluffed-up, miscast and misdirected troop of progressive characters.

  4. Good news, as I’m thoroughly enjoying this series, however that’s despite almost the entire cast being unlikable and each episode full of very convenient revelations and timings.

The location and feeling of dread however is really carrying this show and keeping me engaged, but I’m wondering how they’ll wrap it up in only 2 more episodes, when really, by episode 4, they haven’t really investigated anything, but they have looked at plenty of pictures. All the info they’ve learned so far has happened through a random call over the radio, not via great detective work!
