A double pass is up for grabs to Melb Comedy Festival's industry sessions on Asian-Australian comedy.

Up for grabs in this week’s subscriber newsletter is a 1 x double pass to sessions at Screen Presence 24, a special event at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival on Sunday April 7.

Hosted by Lyanna Kea (Actor, singer, content creator and social media heavy-hitter) some of the best in Asian-Australian comedy come together for this jam-packed showcase! Screen Presence 24 includes stand-up comedy favourites, industry round tables, international guests and will finish with the Australian premiere of a brand new ABC comedy series – White Fever.

Session 1: Deconstructing Comedy

Leading industry creatives come together to discuss and deconstruct the craft of comedy – what makes something funny on screen? And is anything off limits?

Screen Presence 24 Trailblazer Award
The Trailblazer Award acknowledges ground-breaking industry contribution by an Asian-Australian creative. Presented by the Museum of Chinese Australian History. Recipient to be announced.

White Fever Premiere *
Screening 3:15pm (90mins)
The official premiere of ABC’s newest comedy series White Fever, created by and starring Ra Chapman, which follows Jane, a 35-year-old Korean-Australian adoptee, on a quest to reprogram her whitewashed libido after being called out for having a ‘white man fetish’. Featuring Melbourne’s K-Pop Dance Crew – AO Crew.
