Live-action reimagining of the hit animated series gets two more seasons.

Netflix has renewed Avatar: The Last Airbender for two more seasons.

The live-action reimagining of the hit animated series follows Aang, the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, Air) to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation.

Since the show’s debut on February 22, it has reigned as the top English TV show with 41.1M views in just the first 11 days.

The series ranked No. 1 in 76 countries and in the top 10 in 92.

The show will also end with its third season.

  1. i.e. they are going to remake it all because they have already contracted to do that. Animae was the right media for telling this story and is what people should watch. You can add this with growing list of shows that that should never have been remade by Hollywood who only look for a quick buck.

  2. I note that Rotten Tomatoes has given this Netflix show a rating of 59%, though that really means nothing as Rotten Tomatoes ratings is not as it once was. I still need to watch ‘Avatar-The Last Airbender’ so don’t have an appraisal, but I do note that live action shows based on a classic animated series can be polarizing for devoted
    fans, Netflix have been at the forefront making these type of live action versions of classic animated series. Fans of original animated series tend to be very protective of the stories and the characters, if you change any of them in any way these expensive productions will cost the studios money. I note that Conan the Barbarian was once rumoured to be on Netflix’s wish list for a live action show, but the producers and writers moved on after Netflix studio heads created too many creative problems.
