Renewed: Upload confirms final season

It's a fourth and final season for sci-fi comedy starring Robbie Amell.

Sci-fi comedy Upload has been renewed for a fourth and final season by Prime Video.

The series starring Robbie Amell and Andy Allo wrapped its third season late last year and will get a proper farewell at the streamer.

Creator Greg Daniels said in a statement that he planned for Upload to run four seasons though that was never a guarantee.

“When I conceived Upload many years ago, I had the story arced out over four seasons, so I am thrilled to make the ending the fans deserve and the characters and creative team have been working towards,” he said. “[Amazon’s] Jen Salke and Vernon Sanders have been our Angels and they deserve five stars.”

“I’m thrilled to share that Upload will return to Prime Video for a fourth and final installment. We are grateful to Greg and the fantastic team behind the series and while goodbyes are bittersweet, we know that the series will be uploaded to its well-deserved idealistic afterlife,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios.

The series also stars Kevin Bigley, Allegra Edwards, Zainab Johnson, and Owen Daniels.

  1. I am very surprised as I just finished watching Season 3 last week and thought it couldn’t possibly be renewed again. I didn’t mind Season 2, but the first 4 episodes of Season 3 are quite boring/bad. It gets a little better towards the end, but not enough to save it.

  2. Really enjoyed the first season, the second season not as much though it had its moments.

Watched the first episode of season 3 and it was just not enjoyable at all. I feel like the show definitely steered away from what actually made it enjoyable, which was just meant to be a show taking the piss out of the idea of a commercialised afterlife.

Might go back and see if season 3 improves at all, though haven’t heard good things.

    1. You are spot on. Season 1 was so fresh and enjoyable. I actually rated it very highly. S2 tripped up and wobbled its way through but was still just watchable. S3 was just plain unenjoyable and boring. None of the charm and wit remains from that first season… I sat through it begrudgingly, but I would recommend that if you didn’t like the first episode of S3… it doesn’t improve.
A fourth and final season I feel will just wrap up the mess of story its become… I don’t see any way for it to return to the fun, lively production it was originally… it has turned into a big disappointment. What a shame.
