In 2011 SBS screened The Family, a reality series featuring The Cardamones from Donvale, in eastern Melbourne.
Dad Angelo, mum Josie and sons David 20, Stefan 18 and Adrian 14, joined by two Italian nonnas Maria and Franca, allowed 35 remote controlled cameras into their home for 100 days.
Unlike Sylvania Waters they remained positive about the experience with Josie admitting she got so used to the experiment that it had a surprising effect on her.
“People asked us, ‘How did you feel when the cameras were gone?” and we actually missed them. We missed the crew,” she said.
“But we just always kept saying ‘Why would you want to film us?”

I absolutely loved this show! Would love to see SBS revisit the Cardamones and see what they are up to now.
