Applications are open for Non-executive Director vacancies on both ABC and SBS Boards.
These are part-time positions for up to 5 years. The boards have different selection criteria and applicants interested in both positions must submit separate applications for each.
Successful candidates must understand the role of the ABC and / or SBS, its Charter, and place in the Australian community, plus substantial knowledge of at least one of these fields is essential: media industry, business or financial management; corporate governance; cultural industry and/or cultural policy.
An independent Nomination Panel will assess candidates and provide a shortlist for the Minister for Communications, Michelle Rowland who will make recommendations to the Governor-General.
