  1. There have been a number of less than stellar TV remakes of 80s/90s classic films recently-‘Fatal Attraction’, ‘Dead Ringers’, the afore mentioned ‘Roadhouse’ and even ‘Fargo’ has slipped in recent seasons-there’s a very good chance that this could join the list. Not sure if it’s been like this in the US but the original film has been a regular feature on Oz TV since the mid 1990s so there can’t be too many people who haven’t seen it here by now.

  2. The 1990 Harrison Ford movie was based on same book by Scott Turrow. Movie was pretty good, will be interesting to see how they stretch the story to fit a tv series

  3. I’ve got the book and seen the film, which managed to cover all of the book in 2 hours. So how are they going to make 8 hours out of one murder investigation and trial? They could pad out Rusty’s therapy sessions. Turow has now written 12 books in his Kindle County series, which share characters. So I guess they could try to incorporate material from them. But Rusty features again in a story set 20 years later.

  4. I have such mixed feelings about this. So many great names attached to the series, but the book was fantastic and the Alan Pakula directed film was extremely good – with still one of the best filmed final scenes ever imo. I just don’t see what yet another retelling brings… and if they change the ending, then I’m unsure that will go down well either. They’re basically hoping there’s a lot of people that haven’t read the book or seen the movie that will be interested in this.

  5. JJ Abrams and David E Kelly, wow, interested already! I take it no relation to Sydney Pollack and Alan J Pakula’s classic 1990 thriller with Harrison Ford, aussie Greta Scacchi, Bonnie Bedelia and the late great Raul Julia?

          1. My jokes flown right past you David , and if I did know the Lotto Numbers I ain’t gonna tell you 😁.
