ESPN screens the 2024 NBA Draft where NBL Next Star Alexandre Sarr, Australian college prospect Johnny Furphy and a host of other local hoops talent chase their dream.

A host of Australian and ex-NBL stars will feature in the 2024 NBA Draft, as the next generation of elite basketball talent are chosen by all NBA franchises.

Day One of the 2024 NBA Draft will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday June 27 and is Live on ESPN from 10am AEST, with Draft Day coverage starting from 7am AEST.

Day Two then follows from ESPN’s Seaport Studios in New York, which will be broadcast LIVE from 6am AEST on Friday June 28.

The Atlanta Hawks hold the coveted first pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, but who they plan to select with the opening pick remains up for debate.

NBL Next Star Alexandre Sarr, who played with the Perth Wildcats last season, is projected to be a top-three pick, with some experts placing him as high as pick one.

If Sarr is selected in the opening two picks, he will become the highest selected NBL player in history.

Sarr’s fellow Frenchman Zaccharie Risacher has also been touted as a potential number one pick, which would follow the selection of French phenom Victor Wembanyama at the 2023 NBA Draft – a sign of the young talent emerging from the European powerhouse.

As many as six NBL Next Stars could be in the NBA Draft mix.

Cairns Taipans’ Bobi Klintman, Illawarra Hawks’ AJ Johnson, Adelaide 36ers Trentyn Flowers, Melbourne United’s Ariel Hukporti and New Zealand Breakers Mantas Rubstavicius will all enter the 2024 NBA Draft pool.

Australian college and Boomers star Johnny Furphy is expected to be selected in the middle of the first round but could even sneak into the top 10.

Draft experts have labeled Furphy as a ‘sleeper’ pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, given his perimeter shooting and true shooting percentage.

ESPN’s Kane Pitman will be reporting live on-site at the 2024 NBA Draft, interviewing the local stars pursuing an NBA opportunity.
